COPY/LINE EDITING vs PROOFREADING
Copyediting is an in-depth examination of the document to check for the logical flow of ideas and other writing issues. Changes can be made to the original work to bridge any gaps between the author’s intent and the reader’s understanding. This editing brings the completed manuscript to a more professional level.
Proofreading is the stage after a copyedit has been completed. It is a review of the document’s final draft checking it for minor grammatical errors and typos before publication.
